Frontera Federation Celebrates Shelby Park Lease Victory, Urges Next Steps Against River Buoys

The Frontera Federation, alongside the Maverick Accountability Project and The Border Organization, is celebrating a historic victory after the Eagle Pass City Council rejected a land lease agreement with Gibraltar Construction Company. The denied lease would have turned Shelby Park into an industrial staging ground for controversial river buoy barriers. In response to the decision, the coalition is urging the city to audit an "irrevocable" Right of Entry on the municipal golf course, while simultaneously launching a joint workshop with technical experts to evaluate the risks of the floating barriers.
